There are about as many top level domains as there are countries, but in Sweden we are most familiar with the top level domains .se, .com, .net and .nu. NameISP registers new domain names on a daily basis for our customers and we have extensive experience in registering domain names under most open top level domains.
Domain names are ususally made up of a word/name followed by a top level domain, i.e. nameisp.com. Some countries have chosen to structure their top level domains using subdomains, i.e. nameisp.co.uk.
Certified agent for the Swedish top level domain
Sweden has been assigned the .SE domain and it is administered by .SE in Stockholm. These days both companies and private individuals can register names under .SE. The requirement of first having a registered company has been lifted. NameISP charges 544 SEK + VAT to register domain names under the .SE top level domain and that includes the annual fee for the first year.
Internationalized domain names
Internationalized Domain Names are domain names that use national characters. The national domain name is followed by either .com or .net. If your company name consists of characters not in the english language you can now use your real name on the net. You no longer have to change your name to fit the web. The web has instead changed to fit you. You may now secure your trademarks in the languages you think is relevant.
