What is a domain name?
A domain name is a combination of letters and numbers but usually a word that is registered under a Top Level Domain. Ex; nameisp.se, nameisp.info or nameisp.com. Computers communicates with numbers (IP-addresses, ex. 192.168.212.93), that can be difficult for us humans to remember.

Do I need to register more than one domain name?
The amount of the domain names you would like to register is your own decision. NameISP recommends to ensure your company name on the Internet by booking all the international .us .co.uk .com .net .org .info & .biz. If you have business in different countries you should also book your name in this countries. There are several toppdomains that are very popular and free for anyone to register, so make sure that your company name is used for the purpose that you would like.

I already have domain names, how can I transfer my domains to NameISP?
It is a simple procedure. If you choose to transfer your domain names to NameISP, these will be prolonged with a year from the expire date. Please click on “Transfer” on the first page and follow the steps that our system will describe for you. The procedure is different depending on the Registrar you have today. One of the most common problems when a transfer fails is that the email address to the administrative contact is deactivated or deleted. NameISP can help you with this, please contact our support team. When the domain names have been moved to NameISP you can change and update your contacts easily in our system

How can I search if my domain is availble?
1. Please fill in the name you wish to register at NameISP. If you wish to register several domain names, please write down the names in seperated lines. Please do not use www or , (coma) before or after the name, just the name, ex: :

Who can register domain names
The generic top level domains com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .name is open for anyone to register. The only rule that we have at NameISP is that you must be over 18 years old or have your guardians approval. It also exists country code top level domains that are open for anyone to register for example .se for Sweden or .co.uk for United Kingdom. For other country code top level domains there are certain rules for registration such as .es for Spain and .it for Italy. Please contact NameISP for more information.

What is a GTLD?
gTLD means Generic Top Level Domain and groups all the Top Level Domains that are generic and does not belong to a specific country. The generic/general top level domains are: .com .net .org .info .biz .name - .aero .coop .museum .edu .int .pro The top level domains until .name are free for anyone to register.

What is a CCTLD?
ccTLD means Country Code Top Level Domain. These are all the 2 letter Top Level Domains. Today there is more then 200 cctld’s. Ex. .us for USA, .no for Norway or .se for Sweden. Most of the countries in the world have a strict regulation for register a domain name with their top level domain. NameISP can help you to manage and complete these rules. More and more countries are loosening up on the regulation therefor NameISP recommends you to register domain names in the countries you are making business with. How many domains am I allowed to register?
Companies and individuals are allowed to register, unlimited, domain names under the generic Top Level Domain (not connected to a country), com .net .org .info .biz & .name. Some of the Country Code Top Level Domain have the same liberal regulation ex .se (Sweden), .nu (Niue), .co.uk (United Kingdom). For other Country Code Top Level Domain the rules are very strict such as .com.ar (Argentina) or .es (Spain). What is a sub domain?
A domain name can be composed by several parts. As an example we can show:
"sverige.goteborg.upptaget.com"
In this case ".com" is the top domain,
"upptaget.com" is the main domain,
"goteborg.upptaget.com" is a subdomain to "upptaget.com"
"sverige.goteborg.upptaget.com" is a subdomain to "goteborg.upptaget.com". .

Is it possible to redirect several domain to the same homepage?
Yes, ofcourse. This will give your visitors a opportunity to find your webpage easily.

What will happen if you are, for some reason, not able to registar the domain I´ve paid for?
NameISP willl refund your money exluding the fees for doing so. The fees for refunding to your creditcard is today SEK 25 for each refund.

How long does it take before my domain is registered?
This depends on what Top Level Domain you have choosen. The most usual TLD:s (.se .nu .com .net .org .info .biz .name) normally is registered within an hour but often much faster, during office hours. If you are a partner with NameISP you can choose live registrations on .com .net .org .info & .biz

I have entered my own nameservers but the domain was not registered with these, why?
If the namserever uses the same domain as shall be registered, a glue-record must also be given. This is the same as an A-record with the
IP-address to the nameserver.
For .com .net .org .info .biz and .name the nameservers must be registered. If you registered the domain, which the nameservers use, with NameISP, we will register the nameservers free of charge. For .nu-domains, no rules like above exists. There are diffrent rules in diffrent TLD:s. For example, in Denmark (.dk) you must pay to register a nameserver. If you want to register a
.dk-domain you may user our nameservers free of charge.

Can I use my own DNS-servers (nameservers) and still register my domain names through NameISP?
Yes, this is no problem. Just enter your nameservers when you order a domain. You may also log in to your control panel and make a modification on the domain after it is registered.

I need to change my email address for my account and domain name. How can I do that?
Log in to your control panel with your account. Then click on the domain portfolio and choose all the domain names
before you click "Update contacts". Enter your new email address and on next page enter you contact information and
continue. With this you have created a new user name/handle (same as your email address) and an update for your domain. You will receive a confirmation on the order and then also a confirmation when the changes are made.
Note! If you need to make an owner transfer you shall instead press "Make owner transfer" and then finish the order in the same way as above.
