.SX TO BE LAUNCHED
Name ISP has earlier wrote about the fact that the Caribbean island of Saint Martin will launch a new Top Level Domain. It is the Dutch part of Saint Martin that will be given .SX, the other half of the island already has an idle Top Level Domain (.MF).
The island was divided in a French part and a Dutch part in 1648, and Saint Martin is since the division of the Dutch Antilles in the autumn of 2010, a separate country with a certain degree of autonomy.
Now the schedule is official, and Name ISP is a registrar for .SX.
Grandfather Period: Until May 2nd. Everyone owner of a .AN domain kan apply for .SX with the same name.
Sunrise Period: May 3rd-July 4th. Available to trademark holders. The trademark can be registered anywhere in the world (or a WIPO trademark), but must have been registered before March 1, 2011.
Local Sint Maarten corporate and personal priority period: July 5th-September 4th. Open for companies registered on Sint Maarten and local residents.
Landrush Period: September 5th-October 4th. Application available for anyone. In case of multiple applications for the same domain name, there will be an auction.
General Availability Period: Starting October 5th. Anyone will be able to register a .SX Domain Name, on a first come, first served basis. |
